After Church this morning we went for a windy walk out at Morte Point. The temperature has has risen considerably but the price of that is the loss of the sun. Grey skies but thankfully no rain. Out on the coast it was extremely windy , at times we were almost blown over. Great for blowing the cobwebs out of your head.
The sea was very rough with dramatic waves rolling across the ocean.
It was low tide, when the tide is in there are often a couple of seals in this gully,
or else sheltering in these pools at the bottom of the cliff. Today we didn't see a single seal which was a little disappointing. As we scrambled over the rocky path at the point of the headland the wind almost blew us off our feet.
Looking towards Woolacombe we didn't see any surfers, the wave were too blown out and it would have been a real struggle to paddle out to the waves as they were breaking quite far out from shore. At least the wind gave us a good push up the steepest of the hills on the path back. We are so lucky to live only a few miles from such a beautiful coastline.
Back home it I did some housework, Linas left for Plymouth with plans to return home in a few weeks for an airsoft game and hopefully Romas is fetching more wood in as I type.
